Born in 1964 in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor (pre FTKL), Bhante Gunaratana is one of our resident Sangha members and has been given a Honorary Sangha's Certificate of Buddhist Studies with the Ti-Ratana Institute of Buddhist Studies. His current hometown temple is based in Penang, and he was first ordained as a tudong monk (wandering monk) in the Thai Forest tradition.
