New to Kathina? You’re Welcome!
Whether you have been practising Buddhism for many years, are rediscovering the Dhamma or are visiting a Buddhist temple for the first time, you are welcome to attend.
You do not need to sponsor a robe, purchase an offering or make a donation.
Come to experience the ceremony, listen to the chanting, pay respects to the Sangha and rejoice in the wholesome deeds of others. You are welcome to learn and participate at your own pace.
About Kathina
Kathina is an important Theravāda Buddhist tradition observed following the three-month Vassa (Rains Retreat). It is an occasion to express gratitude to the Sangha and cultivate generosity (Dāna) through the offering of robes and essential requisites.
Beyond material offerings, Kathina also provides an opportunity to reflect upon the Dhamma, honour the Sangha and rejoice in the wholesome deeds of others (Anumodanā).
May this occasion bring us together in generosity, gratitude and harmony.
Invited Sangha
We are honoured to welcome:
- Most Venerable Datuk Dr. K. Sri Dhammaratana
- Venerable Hemaloka
- Invited members of the Mahā Saṅgha
