Join Ti-Ratana Buddhist Society for A Spiritual Journey to Emei Shan, an 8-day, 7-night Buddhist pilgrimage and cultural journey through Sichuan and Chongqing, China, together with Ven. Datuk Dr. K. Sri Dhammaratana Nayaka Maha Thero.
The pilgrimage includes visits to important Buddhist and cultural sites, including Mount Emei, the Leshan Giant Buddha, Baoguo Temple and Baoguang Temple, together with visits to Chengdu, Chongqing, Dazu, Dujiangyan and other cultural destinations.
One of the principal highlights will be Mount Emei (峨眉山), traditionally associated with Samantabhadra Bodhisattva (普贤菩萨) and recognised as one of the Four Sacred Buddhist Mountains of China.
Itinerary Highlights
Day 1 — Kuala Lumpur → Chengdu / Chongqing
Departure from Kuala Lumpur, followed by visits including Chongqing People’s Auditorium, Liziba Monorail and Hongya Cave.
Day 2 — Chongqing → Dazu
Dazu Rock Carvings, Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street and Ciqikou Ancient Town.
Day 3 — Dazu → Leshan → Emei
Travel to Leshan, river cruise to view the Leshan Giant Buddha, followed by a visit to Baoguo Temple.
Day 4 — Mount Emei
Visit the Golden Summit and Samantabhadra Bodhisattva (普贤菩萨).
Day 5 — Emei → Dujiangyan
Panda Museum, Nanqiao and Guanxian Ancient Town.
Day 6 — Chengdu
Local cultural visits, Baoguang Temple, and Sichuan Opera.
Day 7 — Chengdu
Kuanzhai Alley, Chunxi Road and Dongjiao Memory.
Day 8 — Chengdu → Kuala Lumpur
Visit Jinli Ancient Street before returning to the airport for the flight home.
